We meet at St Mary’s Church Centre which is at the rear of St Mary’s Church, 4 Station Rd, Twyford RG10 9NE (see map) and signposted on Station Road.
The entrance to the Church Centre is round the right-hand side of the church (at ///ridiculed.haircuts.urban). Meetings are from 8.00 pm prompt to 10.00 pm. The door is on an electronic lock which will be released from about 7.45. If you arrive late knock on the windows to the right-hand side of the door (you will see us) and we’ll come and let you in.
The Centre’s toilets will be available.
Parking
Enter the on-site
car park from Station Road. From the A321 aka B3018 (Church St or Waltham Rd, depending on which way
you’re coming) it’s the second gateway on the right, between two stone pillars and immediately after
the one with brick pillars. (From the other end of Station Rd, going past the station, it’s 2ⁿᵈ-last
on the left, obviously!)
There should be enough space on-site if we all park tidily. Please keep on the gravelled areas and stay off the grass.
If you can’t find a space, Polehampton Court car park¹ RG10 9RP is 5 minutes’ walk and free in the evenings.
¹Walking directions from Polehampton Court car park
Via main road: Walk up Polehampton Court back to High Street. Turn right, towards traffic lights. At the lights turn right into Church Street. At the fork keep right into Station Road. The entrance to St Mary's Church Centre is on the right and is signposted.
Via footpath (shorter): Walk down Polehampton Court, away from main road, and follow round to the left. Enter St Swithin’s Court via the brick arch (ignore the “Private” sign – it’s for vehicles). Go round the right side of the building. After about 50 yards take the footpath straight ahead, between the buildings, which brings you into Church Street. At the fork keep right into Station Road. The entrance to St Mary's Church Centre is on the right and is signposted.
Public transport
Some members might find it convenient to come by public transport. The venue is a short walk from Twyford station which has rail connections to Henley, Reading and Maidenhead among others (details). There are also several bus routes that serve the village.
